Joint seminar

13. septembril 2019 toimus seminar „Joint seminar of the Chair of Crop Science and Plant Biology, The Centre of Excellence EcolChange and Polli Horticultural Research Centre, Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, ERA Chair Valortech and Seedri Arboretum“.

The main aim of the seminar is to share information about ongoing and future research projects to plan possible collaboration in the future.  Working language – mainly English

PROGRAMME

10:00 – 11:00     Tea/coffee and snacks. Tour in the garden, genetic resources, Ave Kikas, Kristine Volnes, Toivo Univer, Mailis Vinogradov, Kersti Kahu, Hedi Kaldmäe, Peeter Laurson.

11:00 – 11:45     Presentation on the ERA Chair Valortech activities and research plans, curriculum development,  Era Chair Prof Rajeev Bhat.

11:45 – 12:30     Main Research Directions, Chair of CR and PB, Centre of Research Excellence EcolChange; Previous and Ongoing Projects – Plants, Methods, Equipment,  – Prof Ülo Niinemets, researchers Eve Runno-Paurson and Triinu Remmel.

12:30 – 13:30     Lunch

13:30 –14:15      Polli Competence Center (major projects, technology developments, laboratory equipment, analytical capabilities),  researcher Peeter Laurson.

14:15 – 15:15     Laboratory and production building tour in Polli, in groups. Uko Bleive, Hedi Kaldmäe, Reelika Rätsep

15:00 – 15:30     Tea/coffee and snacks.

15:30 – 16:30     Seeder Arboretum – Introducing a collaboration project on little-known berry varieties and a tour in the Seeder Arboretum, Elmar Zimmer, Liina Arus.
