PlantValor Competence Centre – From Science-Based Plant Raw Materials to High-Value Products!

The Competence Centre for Knowledge-Based Health Goods and Natural Products is a research and development centre established under the leadership of the Estonian University of Life Scienceslink opens in new page, Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Scienceslink opens in new page, Polli Horticultural Research Centerlink opens in new page together with collaborative partners.

The center focuses on the full utilization of plant-based materials in both food and non-food products, enhancing their quality, functionality, and shelf life.

State-of-the-art laboratories for extraction, distillation, chemical technology, drying technology, and biochemistry have been established at the centre. These facilities enabling to use modern high-tech methods for processing of plant raw materials and to apply obtained results for technology and product development of health and natural products. This means primarily using of bioactive compounds derived  from horticultural raw materials for the development of functional beverages and foods, dietary supplements, household chemicals, natural cosmetics, and plant-based pest control solutions.
