Appointed Research Fellow in Molecular Ecology

I am a researcher in aquatic ecology, focusing on eDNA-based biodiversity studies. I lead the global fungal biodiversity project FunAqua, exploring the diversity of aquatic fungi worldwide. My research also includes the role of toxic cyanobacteria in aquatic food webs. For my postdoc project, I use eDNA metabarcoding to create a global map of fish biodiversity, comparing diversity estimates from water and sediment samples.
